Club Report 2019-20

The Inaugural function of the Karuna, and Enviro clubs was held on 14th August 2018 in Students Council Investiture in the college premises. 1000 students gathered for the Inaugural programme in our college.  The Chief Guest for the function  was Sri. Vinodh Singhvi, Managing Director, Sugal Group, Chennai.  The Presiding Guest was Ms.Priya Sathishdev, Delivery Manager, Infosys, Mahindra World City.

Mrs,P.L.Amutha, Student Council Co-ordinator introduced the newly elected Office Bearers of Karuna and Enviro Club. Club members took their oath after honouring.The Presiding Guest in her address inmspired the students by giving tips to develop their career and insisted them to develop leadership qualities.  The Chief Guest congratulated the college and appreciated the students.  Dr.C.Shalini, Principal proposed the vote of thanks.

Health camp was conducted in the college premises on 18th August 2019, in which karuna and Enviro club have taken the in-charge of Eye camp.Agarwal Eye Clinic and Mahavir International Trust in collaboration with VSWC served the public with free Eye checkup and providing spectacles. Most of the surrounding public have benefitted due to this camp.

Club Report 2018-19

The Inaugural function of the Karuna, Enviro and and Organic Farming clubs was held on 9th August 2018 in the college premises. 700 students gathered for the Inaugural programme in our college.  The function began with college prayer followed by Karuna prayer. Welcome Address was given by Shri Suresh Kankariya ,Treasurer , VidhyaSagar Educational Institutions.

The karuna and enviro club report was given by Mrs. M. Rajeswari, Co-ordinator of karuna club.

The Chief Guest for the day was Shri. R.M. VENUGOPAL,founder I Learn Farming Agri School, Brindavanam Organics, addressed the gathering by sharing his valuable thoughts and gave a presentation on organic farming in comparison with chemical farming. His presentation captured the attention of all the students. Cash prizes were given to the students for winners of Veg/Non-veg essay writing competitions.

Vote of thanks was given by Dr. R.Rekha, Advisor , Organic Farming.

Club Report 2015-16

Free Eye Camp was held on 26th July in Vidhya Sagar Women’s College premises for the year 2015, organized by Karuna & Enviro clubs, in association with Mahaveer International ( Udhi Eye Hospital).Around 110 people were benefitted. Out of which 10 people have been taken to the Udhi Hospital for Surgery and 61 people have been given spectacles.

Karuna club was inaugurated by Dr.T.S. Subha, HOD, Dept. of Botany, Bharathi Women’s College, on 7th August 2015. Workshop on organic farming was organized by our beloved Treasurer Shri Suresh Kankaria on 27th Aug 15. Mr.P.Masilamani , Head, Organic Agricultural Farmer Association Vellore was the chief guest and conduct the workshop. The following were demonstrated in the workshop.

  • Panchagavya preparations
  • Natural way of farming
  • Preparations of natural pesticides
  • Plantations of seasonal plants and crops

As an initiative for research a book “ Minor Research on Organic Farming” was released by the Chief Guest. Free saplings were given to farmer parents by our Treasurer.

The Chief Guest also presented Coconut Saplings for the college.

  • On 25th July 2014 The Enviro club was formally inaugurated.
  • Our Volunteers actively participated in the following activities :
  • On February 2015 – Environment Awareness Programme (Mahatma Gandhi Film) was conducted.
  • On 27th July 2014 Free Health Camp was conducted, “ Eye Camp” by MAHAVEER INTERNATIONAL (UDHI EYE HOSPITAL) among 150 patients, 105 beneficiaries were given Spectacles and free surgery.
  • On 22th August 2014 A Training programme on the topic “ Natural Way of Farming” had been conducted by Mr. Vanagam Ramesh.
  • On 28th August 2013 The Enviro club was formally inaugurated by Our Principal by the Chief Guest Ms. Grace Amabai, District Social welfare officer, Kancheepuram.
