The 14th Annual Sports Day of VidhyaSagar Women’s College was celebrated on 5th February 2019. Dr.G.Chandrabose, M.A.,M.Sc.,M.P.Ed.,M.Phil.,MD.,NIS-Athletics, IAAF LEVEL – I Coach &Technicial official (Common Wealth Referee) was the Chief Guest. Correspondent Shri. VikasSuranaji, Treasurer Shri. Suresh Kankariaji, Director Shri. B.G Acharya ji, Principal Dr. C. Shalini Kumar and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. They entailed by the unfurling of the sports flag. A spectacular impressive and a well synchronized March Past was performed by the respective Department contingents. Treasurer Shri. Suresh Kankariaji welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Olympic torch which ignite the passion of sporting spirit was lit. The chief guest encouraged the students to do exercise, to maintain physical and mental fitness. The next exciting event for the day was the NCC Parade Drill, 100mts, 200mts, 4x100mts relay, Yoga, Aerobics, Karate were performed by the students with great stamina and vigour. Ten students received scholarship for being sports toppers and around 250 students received prizes and certificates for various sports events. Mrs. Usha Mary, Physical Directress presented the Annual Sports Report. Department of Commerce won the Overall Sports Trophy and the individual Championship was won by P. Suchitra of II BBA.
