On 27th August to 30th August,2024 the ED cell of VSWC organized an enlightening ‘CAKE BAKING’ workshop session in two batches of 32 Students each, by Ms. Neha, Alumni of VSWC, the founder of bakers table and also GST consultant. Totally 64 Students were captivated by this workshop.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of vidhya sagar women’s college, has organized Entrepreneurial Talk “JOURNEY OF A STUDENT TO ENTREPRENEUR” on 23/07/2024 by Resource person Mr.Eswar R M. Ideology Entrepreneur and the founder people’s Listener.
He shared his experience and ideas and also gave an exact meaning of an Entrepreneur and the responsibilities of an Entrepreneur and mainly he built a confidence among our students.
It has been such a wonderful and useful session for our students.

The International Women’s Day was celebrated at Vidhya Sagar Women’s College on 7th of March, 2025 in the college premises. The celebration aimed to empower and uplift the status of women, promoting dignity and equality among students. The College organized a highly engaging and impactful workshop on the creation of reusable bags. The workshop witnessed an overwhelming participation of around 1700 enthusiastic students, who actively engaged in learning the intricacies of making reusable bags. The participants were keen to incorporate eco-friendly practices into their daily lives and exhibited a deep sense of responsibility towards preserving the planet for future generations. The session was graced by Shri.Vikas Surana, Correspondent of Vidhya Sagar Institutions, who praised initiative and its alignment with the college’s commitment to environmental awareness. Dr.R.Arunadevi, Principal of the college, along with several esteemed professors, also attended the event, underscoring the significance of such initiatives in the academic environment.

The Entrepreneurial Development Cell in VSWC organized a five-day workshop on “Chocolate Making”. Mrs. Julie, Instructor, KVIC, conducted the class from January 06, 2025 to January 10, 2025 at MS 78 and MS 79.Totally 32 students learned the art of tempering chocolate to achieve the perfect smooth texture and glossy finish. The most engaging part of the workshop was the hands-on activity. Where each participant made their own bath of chocolate, experimenting with different flavors like nuts, fruit, and spices. This will help the students to earn their own income.

“Unleashing the entrepreneurial spirit in every woman”
Empowering young entrepreneurs, Vidhya Sagar Women’s College presents Manthan Bazaar every year.  October 10, 2024, marked the successful hosting of Manthan Bazaar, the annual entrepreneurial showcase, at Bhagwan Mahaveer Swami Auditorium. Smt. Kirti Jain, Chief Financial Officer of Global Healthcare Resource, inaugurated the event as the esteemed Chief Guest. In her keynote address, she emphasized the significance of handicrafts in empowering women to enhance their standard of living, fostering entrepreneurship, self-confidence, and resilience. This year’s Manthan Bazaar showcased the entrepreneurial spirit of the students, with approximately 40 stalls offering a diverse range of products and services, including delectable food, fashionable accessories, clothing, engaging games, and exquisite handicrafts. The occasion was further graced by the presence of Shri. Vikas Surana, Correspondent of Vidhya Sagar Institutions, Dr.R. Arunadevi, Principal of Vidhya Sagar Women’s College. The best stall was recognized with the prestigious Best Iconic Entrepreneurial Award, while the Chief Guest announced the lucky draw winner, adding an element of excitement to the event. The programme ended with the National Anthem.

The ED Cell has implemented the weekly stalls in a latest way with innovative ideas as “NEXT GEN ENTREPRENEURS” stalls. As Next Gen Entrepreneurs the students set up stalls and shops inside the campus every week in a way to expose and enjoy the journey as an entrepreneur.

Ms J.Sindhuja Executive Director Thinkinnov Solution Technologies was the chief guest for Manthan Bazaar on 18.10.2023.
Totally 37 stalls were presented by our students. Stalls like food items, bakery, games, accessories, dress items, mehandhi, pencil art, hand crafts and horror house was the stalls for Manthan bazaar.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Vidhya sagar women’s college organized the inaugural ceremony on 26th August 2022 at Bhagwan Aadinath auditorium. The programme started at 10.30 am. Ms. J.Yuvarani, III BBM delivered the welcome speech. Dr. R.Rekha, Head of the department of Tamil honoured the chief guest. Ms. Riffath Shanaz(a) RIA, Entrepreneur, Ria Mehandhi’s, Henna Artist, the chief guest of the inaugural programme delivered the keynote address and explained the journey on becoming an entrepreneur. She motivated the students to keep the spirit of entrepreneurship active in them. The students got a chance to ask questions and clear their doubts from the chief guest. The vote of thanks was delivered by C.Saritha III BBA, the president of ED Cell.

Vidhya Sagar Women’s College organized “Manthan- ED Bazaar” on 18th October 2022. The Chief Guest Mrs. Kala Bhandari, Director, Metal Craft inaugurated the fair and the function was presided over by Shri. Vikas Surana, Correspondent, VSEI. The Chief Guest Mrs. Kala Bhandari enthralled about woman empowerment in promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among students, a passion for self employment, a platform to convert their dreams into reality and to bring out their entrepreneurial skills which make them strong with adequate knowledge and experience to provide their creativity, freedom, and ability to generate wealth in future as a team. More than 30 stalls like art and craft, jewellery, handicraft, mehendi, footwear, food and snacks, juice, clothings etc. in which all the faculties and students encouraged the entrepreneurs. Through this the entrepreneurial skills of the students were developed.

Totally 8 students from B.Com and BBA and one staff member participated. Entrepreneurs from various fields interacted with the students and they shared their experience as an entrepreneur. And also they motivated the students to start the business at the earliest. Students gained knowledge about entrepreneurship.
This year has ended on a very promising note. The ED cell aspires to design more activities and programmes for the students to bring out the entrepreneurial spirit in them and groom them into job providers.
