Vidhya Sagar Women’s College celebrated its 21st Fresher’s Welcoming Day on 2nd July 2025 with great enthusiasm and grace at the Bhagawan Mahaveer Swami Auditorium. The event commenced with the auspicious college prayer, as students joyfully entered the venue, greeted warmly into the academic community.

The third-year students welcomed the fresher’s with insightful addresses; sharing their experiences and giving an overview of the academic curriculum and campus life, helping the newcomers feel at ease. A highlight of the event was the scholarship distribution, where accolades were awarded to 71 students who secured 80% and above in their 12th Public Examination, 12 students recognized for their achievements in sports, and 87 class toppers of the University Examination.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. T. Velmurugan, Member of the Syndicate at the University of Madras, and Head & Associate Professor, PG & Research Department at Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Chennai, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the growing importance of computer fundamentals across all fields and how technological knowledge simplifies and enhances our daily lives.

The celebration was also honoured by the presence of Thiru. Vikas Surana, Correspondent, Vidhya Sagar Educational Institutions, Thiru. Suresh Kankaria, Vice Chairman and Treasurer, Vidhya Sagar Educational Institutions, Dr. R. Arunadevi, Principal, Vidhya Sagar Women’s College, and Dr. K. Marisamy, Empowerment Principal, VSI.

The event concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, marking a successful start for the new academic batch. In total, approximately 600 students and their parents took part in the grand celebration.
